Post date is NOT Important. What's important is the "delivered" date. Think about. USCIS can't and is not responsible for postal delays. If one sends a package and somehow it does not get delivered for 14 days, USCIS cannot mark the application received until and when it receives it, period.
Please check before posting untrue statements. So even if your application reaches the uscis on the July 3rd, but uscis enters your application to the system on August 1st, your filed date will be July 3rd. So don't worry. Make sure your package reaches USCIS in July and you will be OK.

Hello,
I am currently on H4 visa and I am planning to pursue an MBA program. If i choose to study in H4, i know i qualify for the California resident fee discount. If i change my visa to F1 for studies, would i not be eligible for the california resident discount? or would i lose the residency status?

Received the RFE today. It was asking for my birth certificate copy & translation. My lawyer says this is very common. For me this is stupid, they already got my birth certificate copy and the translation.

I mailed my first EAD application in the last week of Dec/09.
Never thought it would take so long for receipting, and worried something wrong in my application..

No one can stop it.
Do you all think it is just a co incidense that all the dates became current just when this bill (which was supposed to be in grave :rolleyes: ) is revived by those who extremely opposed it?
Do you know how many people will stop giving a damn, because they just filed their 485 s?
People like me who are result of bad practice employers are still here, and lucky ones will depart.....
We have been dealt a crucial blow here.
No one can stop it.

Yes, you can GC is a future job. So its definitely possible.
Does it mean I can file a 485 even without joining the employer and can eventually join him before the 485 is approved. Any risks in this process?

My 485 (based on NIW) is pending. Based on the current bulletin, it could take years to approve my case. I currently work in the US using H1 visa. But I may need to travel outside the US for 1 year or even longer for business reason. Is there any way that I can not abadon my 485 pending status? Thanks!
You must change your AOS to CP. That way if your I485 is adjudicate while you are out of US, you could get the GC from the elected US consulate/embassy.

On August 5, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. I would assume that EAD and AP have to be paid for separately.

I am in the same boat. Could someone answer this question ? I am trying to get affidavit from parents and the header reads "Affidavit of <wife's name> (known as <wife's previous name> at the time of birth". Is that good enough? BC has her pre-marriage name but it got issues just last week.

BC should always have wife's maiden name.. and affidavits can have wife's current name!!! That works out very well... thats how I got it for my wife.

2) If so when do I have to leave company A or is there any way I can continue with Company A and get my GC processed through company B.
