I think, you could wait for few more weeks. Sometimes, the delay may be due to the unavailability of appointment dates at the nearest uscis office. In your case, I guess it is Newark or New Jersey or whatever..which I guess is an office with lot of applicants under its jurisdiction.
If you apply this logic to a person from a remote place, that will answer why he receives a notice early.
Well I won't suggest you to wait for more than 6-8 weeks.

I had a question: My and my wife's 485 ND is august 27 from TSC. We haven't got any FP notice yet.
Is anyone in a similar situation? data indicates that most of the august notice dates applicants have already got their FP appointments. I am from NJ so newark must be my ASC.
Should I call USCIS or wait?

There would have been no backlog.
You are correct then only Andhra Pradesh have been retrogressed. If you remove AP from that equation. everything will be normal.
I can bet 90 percent of the GC applicants are from India are from AP.

I am in for Gandhigiri. I remember we celebrate aniversaries of the success we had when we did this 1st time and only time. Its time we do it again.
I know many people whose cases are ready to be adjucated are keeping a silent note core members or others, and they will become active again when numbers become unavailable.. which makes sense like in many cases. What will you do if your date is current.. be very hopeful for hearing the good news.. and not try to get ANY attention, . right.. Sorry if I hurt anyone,. but what are we waiting for.. economy to pick up??.
But I know many people out there are not even close to or hopeful if the numbers become current.. LETS DO IT. We request IV core to come forward and start a campaign. Please help.

Look at the state of our country's education. Priority in policies should not mean that all other important nation's agenda should remain in standstill.

What is the relation between a 3 year H1B Approval granted on an approved I-140 and the underlying I-140 petition ? Specifically, what happens if an employee leaves the company, are the remaining years (out of 3 granted originally) still valid ? What happens if the original employer revokes/cancels the underlying peition on which the extension was originally granted ? Is the H1B petition based on a an approved I-140 linked to that I-140 in anyway once it (H1B petition) is approved ? Hi,
I have been selected for the Green Card Diversity lottery and have some questions:
I have been working for the past 6 years on a H1B visa and have been laid off in March.
I am currently out of status, my H1B has expired, but I have an approved extension I797A form and I-94 untill October 2010.
I am planning to return to my home country July 31 (at that point I will be out of status for 4.5 months, but have not aquired unlawful presence).
1- Is my Green card application/approval in jeopardy by being out of status?
2- Is it possible to have my status adjusted and proceed inside the United States?
3- Do I increase my changes to obtain approval if I return as soon as possible to my home country instead of waiting until July 31st?
4- Is it possible for me to travel to the US on a tourist visa while waiting for a response from the consular center?http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif
5- Overall, what would be the recommended approach to give the best chance of approval?

I see your way of viewing this; but I have to disagree with you on this.
We have to do something for ourselves and for the future high skilled immigrants; it is now or never.
It is not just about the "proposal"; everyone here knows that it is just a proposal and it has long ways to go. However, if we do not work on our agenda now, chances of getting any of our provisions in any future immigration bill are slim.
Do you have any other proposal as to "what should we do"; besides "not doing anyting"? If you do, we are more than happy to hear your opinion.
I am sorry to say and do not mean to offend you, but if you think outside the "box" of the proposal; this is the right environment to promote our agenda and bring the awareness of high-skilled immigrantion issues.
No way did i mean that not doing anything is good. all i tried to point out that a lot of people are arguing and debating about the proposals as IF they were actual laws !!let us try to find out ways in which we can have a direct or indirect impact on the bill. if you think that by debating and discussing about the proposals here in the forums will do that, then go on.

I also see a LUD 11/25 on my both approved I140's EB2/EB3. I have only used EB2 to file 485, so my guess is its a system wide LUD, some maintenance program running.

I haven't received it yet. I was looking for anyone who had a similar situation. Why would they require more evidence for a 3 year old boy??? They approved the rest of my family yesterday and sent cards for production notice but my 3 year old got an RFE.

Remember I-140 is Employer's not yours, only safety net for PD is I-485 +180 days (AC21 rule).
I 'm no expert. But what Veni001 is telling is incorrect. Even though you didn't apply for 485 you still can use that 140 and use that date.
There might be a little problem if the 140 is revoked. But you can certainly try.
