I don't understand the time frames they were talking about! My computer turns on 10 mins before I arrive. When I get there and walk into my office the lights turn on and when I leave they turn off!
iSync will sync up all your devices, but it won't do it behind your back!
When we have a video conference the camera moves to the person who is talking but does not take over. It has the inititial person on the main screen and when someone else starts to speak it becomes picture in picture!
What the F are they talking about 3-5 years - IT IS ALREADY HERE AND IT IS ON THE MAC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. The screen is only about 15K!

You heard wrong.
guess you missed the sarcasm ;)
i don't think there is ever a reason to wait for a new os to be released before buying the hardware....

You reinstall JB packages through Cydia (one by one) or by using AptBackup or PkgBackup or some other app like these.
The update simply overwrites the files on your phone but still keeps everything intact like your music, photos, apps etc. The full restore will wipe out everything making you start from scratch.
I just did a full restore to 4.3.2 since mine was sluggish and slow. You can do either or but I always prefer doing a full restore since it clears everything out.
Wish there was a reliable way to keep packages, icon placements, manually installed deb's, and tweaks without having to-do them all. There's package backup, and apt backup, but it's not a full "click to restore" that would be ideal for me.... so it makes little hops like going from 4.3.2 to 4.3.3 kinda more pain than it's worth.

I would love a backlit keyboard. As long as the batteries would be able to last 1 month I'm happy. I use rechargeable batteries so it wouldn't really be a huge issue.

It appears that OS X will truncate any password longer than 7 characters to only 8 characters. In other words, it's an 8-character overflow. This problem is global in that it affects the Login Window, Screen Effects, Keychain Access, and even network logon security. For anyone with long password phrases that have easily-guessable words in the first 8 characters, this is a problem. Since "MacintoshOSXIsMoreSecureThanMicrosoftWindows" only needs to be entered as "Macintosh", gaining unauthorized access is very simple with a common name attack. Of course, we all have passwords that are a combination of letters and numbers, including a mix of upper- and lower-case characters. ;)

Think what you want people. But if Sony wins; it truly means you don't own any of the consoles you buy.
I hope he loses. Damnit, his hacking of the PS3 has lead to making MW2 effing unbearable online now due to all the hackers exploiting his hardware hack

Looks like Apache is serving the whole file but either your ISP or your connection to your ISP is preventing you from serving anything greater than 45kb, who is your ISP?

Remote Desktop rocks. I really like it better than Virtual PC for performance reasons. And I don't use any of my Mac hard drive space except for the program, or memory, and CPU time.
Virtual PC still is the best if you want to have multiple O/S's and at the same time and have the ability to easily reimage a drive and share your existing hardware and don't have to space for an extra PC. And if you have a laptop and not on a network to connect to your PC.

Many signs point to one not coming out next month, so don't waste time worrying about it being outdated in a month. A few months? Maybe.

Is this the one by Hudson too? They don't normally develop poo.
Seem's like poo was on a 2 for 1 sale :o
I didn't care about the games graphics, after all pilotwings wasn't WOW it was the gameplay that made it excellent. Nintendo dissapointed me with no PW game for the cube, when I first saw this game it rekindled my PW hopes, hence I'm dissapointed.
Added to the fact that the launch schedule for Europe is looking like utter ***** on the wii. We dont even get trauma centre until the end of July now.
If the release schedule has little appeal for someone like me who buys a shedload of games - for some of the more judicious choosing types - it's practically non existant....

Here's a question that's been bugging me for a while. If you have a headless PC, does it need a video card in it?
The way I see it, it shouldn't because there's no monitor attached to it, but at the same time, VNC outputs what is on the monitor, which is driven by a video card. I've always wondered this, and I'm too lazy to pull the video card from my comp....
It most likely does. Your BIOS may keep you from booting the computer. If you have a really expensive graphics card, you can certainly downgrade. Newegg.com has many for under $20.
I wouldn't reccommend VNC if you have a 10/100 network because VNC causes high network traffic.

When I look at the depreciation of MBP, it is much worse than a MP. For example, 2008 models of MP have depreciated by about ~50%, while MBP have depreciated ~75% for similar price starting price point of the computers.

No, I haven't installed any hacks, themes, or anything like that. I think altering the OS is just asking for trouble.
The only beta software I'm running is iChat AV, but I haven't done much with it and I rarely run it. I also ran Safari when that was beta (though I never ran any of the "unofficial" versions).
There also aren't any error messages in the Console.

That means the ACD would act as a hub
Are you sure about that?
AFAIK in a TB daisy chain the monitor must be the last....
EDIT: i was wrong.
Existing monitors with MDP will work in a TB daisy chain if used as the last peripheral. New monitors that will probably have TB ports can be used also in the middle of a chain or as a HUB....

I use my 13" mbp for everything.
I have a custom docking station setup at home (23" monitor, keyboard/mouse/speakers) and several I can use at work (as a research assistant).
If I did do multiple computers I would *have* to use something like dropbox to sync files. I think it is easier now than ever to do multiple computers, but I have so many custom settings and know where things are, etc, that it would be difficult to justify having two machines.
I could see myself getting an iMac to play with, realizing I don't need it, and returning it (or my mbp, probably the iMac). if I had a more permanent office I would probably want a desktop computer to use there however.
Also, while the 13" screen size is not the best, I've found that for 90%+ of the things I do it is sufficient. Actually the only thing which bothers me about it is google calendar, I have to do full screen to get a full days schedule to be nicely viewable because of how gcal resizes its frames.
