I'm living in a 2 bedroom/4 person suite with a living room. For the first week or so, we connected using the old way: an Ethernet cable.
But I realized unplugging and plugging back in was silly when I had an Airport Express sitting in my desk.
So now, we have a wireless network. I lowerd the strength, made it password protected, and hidden. It's awesome! It's hooked up to my JBL Creature speakers and my printer, so now, we can be in the living room online, printing, playing tunes, whatever. Plus there's never anything to plug in when I bring my computer back to the room, just open it up!.
Watch out though, my roomates have played a trick on me once. I was sitting in front of my computer (and speakers) and my roomate decided to start blasting music on my speakers... I jumped quite a bit...
The only downside is now I can't share my iTunes library with the rest of the Residence Hall, nor can I view theirs.

I have been trying for three days to get a simple Servlet to work. Tomcat is working and displaying the work. I have created the blasted web.xml, .java, and .class files. All I get is HTTP 404 /Hi/ or /Hello/ could not be found. I hate Tomcat, I hate Java Servlets. If anyone can help please, please, please, I beg you, please help. Here is the java file:

Might want to try G.E.M.M. The biggest selection "on the Planet." Haven't purchased cds from them but have purchased numerous vinyl and the grading condition is spot on.

Deleting the plist did not fix the problem bt deleting the INBOX.mbox did. Unfortunately it also took out all the emails I already had in the INBOX, so i'm glad I just left it on the desktop.
Oops... I submitted my edit after your problem was solved. Glad to see everything worked out. It looks like we were thinking the same thing to solve the problem though. ;)

Wow what a waste of time that was. Spent the last 2 hours looking this up. I had it figured out probably an hour ago. Went back into the yahoo part and i had a space before the letters and numbers. frustrating. :rolleyes:

You have to use something like Dynamic DNS to help you find your network from the outside world and you also have to forward the correct ports on your router.
If all this sound foreign to you, you might find it much easier to use a service like logmein.com, which needs no additional configuration.

i would think that the main problem in modding the inaards of the PB to fit an AE card would be space. The AE card is shorter and wider than the original style airport card. That and the interfaces are different. I may be wrong, but I think that the AE card is more like a PCI card, and the original card is more like a a PCMCIA card. SOmeone may correct me if they wish.

Why don't you try one of these many jailbreaks you have "seen online" instead of posting this ridiculous thread, you could even use the search option, I would go as far as to say that it would be front page news on macrumors if it had happened anywhere other than in your imagination!

I had a 12 inch 867 before, and I could have cooked eggs on that baby! :eek:
I got a new 12" PB, and its stays very cool, unless your running some intense programs, like 3D games (i.e. Unreal Tournament 2004).

So recently I bought an iBook G4 1.33 GHz 12" in very good condition with a new genuine Apple battery and two genuine power supplies for € 150, not a bad deal I think.
Anyway, it has the stock Toshiba 4200 rpm hard drive and had 512 MB RAM when I purchased it. I've upgraded it to 768 MB RAM afterwards. At the moment it runs Tiger, but I think it's time to move on to Leopard mainly because ClicktoFlash for Tiger does not allow me to play YouTube videos with the QuickTime Player anymore and I can't find an alternative.
I've tried Leopard on it and it was not slow, but it felt not "smooth". I think the slow hard drive causes the pretty long app launch times and the sometimes sluggish feel.
Is it worth it to upgrade the hard disk to a modern 5400 rpm model, like the Samsung HM160HC? I don't do heavy duty stuff on the iBook, but when I use it I want it to run as fast as possible. Will this hard drive make Leopard run smoother?
I also plan on upgrading the memory to 1 GB, I can get a 512 stick from a friend.
What are your thoughts, is it a waste of money or will the upgrades make a noticeable difference? I have a retail Leopard dvd, so at least I don't have to buy that. ;)

:cool: I have been working with pc's since win 95, my first one had win 95, it was ok, but I didn't know how to use it, many years later, I have built them, repaired them, junked them, and got headaches over them. I work tech. support for a small ISP in northern Indiana, all the trouble calls I get are with Windows machines, the only time I get to talk to our Mac customers is when there sign up, and even then it is short because I don't have to walk them through the setup, they know how. So I bought an iBook and have never been happier, this thing has great sound for such a small box, 12.1 ", 900 MHz, 640 MB Ram, 60 GB HD, Airport Card, Combo CDRW/DVD Drive, yes it is maxed out, the biggest Apple makes, I wanted somthing small and powerful and I got it, I love this thing, and it is so easy to use straight out of the box!, Thank You Apple!

Looks like your drive may be failing.. I had this same problem with a 500gb Western Digital external hard drive about a year ago. It just didn't mount all of the sudden and then quit working all-together. You still should try to reformat the drive to see if that fixes the problem though.
If you need any of the files on the external drive you are going to have to use a utility such as Data Rescue 3 or something similar and then try to reformat the drive. If not, go ahead and click erase and try to reformat it and see if it works.

I have the dp 1.25, how do tell which chip is in it? I read in another forum or site that there is a command in terminal that lists the chip in system info, but cannot remember.

Unfortunately, I've never seen anything about graphics upgrades as this would take a whole lot more research and possibly a daughterboard and firmware upgrades to make it work.
