Receipting update is just a reference.
My applications reached NSC 6 months ago on July 9th.
I have no receipts and checks were not cashed.
As per IO's my name is not in the system.

- If I get a new H1 sponsored (NOT a transfer of existing H1) and join a new company in a totally different job family (New H1 is not an issue because it is from a H1 cap exempt organization)

- Also maintain the current H1 (I will continue part time work here to get minimum wage)

No - I'm using VS 2005 .NET. It is a standard Windows Application Form in C#.
The combo box selected index value change causes 2 panes to change. The one pane allows the user to Update information of the Item in the selected index. The other pane displays all database elements FKeying to that item.
So sometimes the user may update the portion of the information that is set as DisplayValue in the combobox. The object itself is updated, but the combobox text remains as the old value.
I'm essentially looking for a best practice in doing this. Whenever updating a member of the combobox should I rebind the datasource? I tried using the Refresh() and Update() methods but they do not update the display value.

Hi,
My friend got his H1 last year for 2007-2008 and came to US in DEC 2007, he works for IT company. However, since he has arrived he has not been placed on a project and so no pay stub has been generated. He has been on bench for 6 months.(technically without a job but has H1)
Is he out of status?
Can he show that he is on vacation till he gets a project?
Is there any other way?
Pls help.

Yes. He is out of status and I dont believe you can show six months as vocation. You need give the reason and proof for the long period of vocation. His employer must pay him the salary even if he is not in porject. Otherwise its illegal

I am on EB3 with 140 approved. My PD is Dec 2002. My company is ok to give me a promotion and re-apply on EB2. I have roughly 8 years of experience as a software engineer. According to my company's lawyer I may still have a problem because my university education is not in computers. I have 3 years degree in mathematics (BSc) and 2 years in business (MBA). I also have 2 years diploma in computers.
Anybody has any experience with such a case? Any suggestions or ideas?
What is the risk if I decide to take a chance ?

This is a good thread.. I would like to find out if I can continue my GC process if I move internationally till my PD becomes current..
I wonder what kinds of documents will be required for one to be still use the GC process..

what is the purpose of this?
If it is to share comments between people working on the same project, it would probably be easier to convert it to xps and use document viewer to see it. And then the comments could be saved as a .txt file and sent with the other file.
Thats my 2 cents although it would be cool to get it working the way you first envisioned.

Hello everyone, i have a good news to share that i just checked my case and it shows "Card production ordered". I guess it means my 485 has been approved.

Well, i do have a question regarding my wife 485 case which i just filed this month (July 1st) as my case is current from July 1st. I filed my 485 before i got married, and now it is time and i filed on July 1st, and not received any receipt number from USCIS for my 485 case.
As per my lawyer, there is no worries as we filed on time, and your case is approved just today, means, they should process your wife case when time comes. May be another 4 or 6 months. As long as her case is processed without any issue, then it is fine.
I would like to hear from you guys that if anyone has got this kind of case and any inputs from you guys would be really appreciated.

Hi All,
I lost my renewed EAD. It was approved for 2 years. My license is expiring in SEP 30th. Can I submit AP in DMV for status check. If I applying EAD for lost card, Can I at least submit receipt notice? I dont think I wont get replaced card before SEP 30. Please help me. I am not in H1B status.

Finally USCIS has corrected the processing date typo. The dates are not back to original track.

Celebrating the good news here.
Question: Did anybody receive confirmation about their AOS applications being returned after filling in early July (Say on the 2nd or 3rd)? I know there have been rumors about a few returned applications but I haven't actually found anyone in such situation + my attorneys confirmed today that USCIS specifically instructed not to return/reject them.
An answer will magically appear after you have contributed to the IV cause.

Since you were out of the country for more than a year on your previous H1 and subsequently you came to US on a H-4 visa, if you apply for H-1 now, you start afresh. You cannot "transfer" your old H-1 AFAIK, please check with other gurus on this forum.
Also, what this means is since this year's quota is exhausted you probably will have to apply after April 1st and if your H1 is approved, it will have a start date of Oct 1, 2010.

The labor is for your future job that your company is offering (atleast technically). The LCA is based on your employer's address and NOT based on your address..As long as your employer doesn't move, it should be no problem. Of course, please check with an immigration attorney on this.:D

I was not so so keen until this matter was resolved..BUT my GC got approved.
I am separated from spouse. But when I filed 485, I was "married" because our relationship was still unstable.
Now QUITE FRANKLY I am NOT sure what's going to happen ahead.Dont ask me why. This whole uncertainty depressed me . If I re-unite and my wife is in India and I am on GC HOW do I call her here ?
If I divorce and re-marry how do I get my new wife here.
In any case , I dont plan on getting more than 1 person so pl dont look at it from a gamers view.

What if the case is where I want to take up a new full time position and convert my current full time position to part time.....I guess one way to do it would be to transfer H1 to the new employer...wait for an approval and then file for another concurrent H1 for the part time job with the old company..But the problem is I'd have to wait until new approval comes...and also convince both companies to shell out 2k plus in filing fees....does any one have a better alternative ? same thing happen to me too, we applied for correction and got corrected PD after one month.
Since my PD was/is not current waiting one more month was not a problem for me.

Hi,
I am in a fixed situation and in big dilemma.
My H1 is expiring in 2007 June first week.
My current employer's (A) attorney is useless and I had to struggle for a year to get my labor filed.
Labor got approved recently and still struggling to file my I-140 in premium.
Meanwhile, I got an offer for permanent employment in a good organization (B).
I would like take that offer but issues that are bothering me are:
1. If I wait and finish my I-140 with current company (A), do I have to get 3 years H1 extension with Company (A) before transferring to company (B)?
2. Do company (B) have rights to extend my H1 visa for 3 years with I-140 approval from current company (A)?
3. Is it safe to switch companies immediately after I-140 approval? I thought 180 days time is preferred but I don�t have the luxury of waiting for 180 days.
Please help me with these questions.
